Equipment rules

 

All skaters must wear a helmet that is in working condition (no cracks, with straps, proper fitting) that is certified and approved at all times while they are skating.

The skates allowed are inline skates with 4 or 5 wheels.

All other protective equipment for inline skating (wrist guards, knee pads, elbow pads) is recommended but not mandatory.

 

Rules during and after the races

All skaters performing dangerous moves or something that may harm other skaters will be automatically disqualified from the race.

Skaters must respect competitors, officials, volunteers, and those watching the races. Skaters who fail to do this will be disqualified from all the races of the day.

Drafting is authorized except in the times trials.

 

 

Points races

In the points races, the first and the second skaters of each lap will get points (see table below). At the end of the race, the first five skaters will have points. The total of the points will determine the winner. All skater must complete the race to have its points.

After the 47th position, every one gets 1 point but the final ranking will be based on the placement at the finish line.

 

 

Point system for the serie

All the accumulated points will be multiplied by a number (see the table). The worst competition after this will be omitted.

To become champion of a category, a skater must have participated at least at 2 events of the serie excluding bonus races.

 

Categories

 

Recreational category

Child: Under 14 years old and not able to skate with junior elite skaters.

Begginer: Any person in his first year of racing that is not ready to compete with recreational skaters.

Junior: 14 to 18 years old (as of Janurary 1st, 2008) and not able to skate with junior elite skaters.

Senior: 18 years old and more (as of Janurary 1st, 2008) and not able to skate with senior elite skaters.

Master: 30 years old and more (as of Janurary 1st, 2008) and not able to skate with master elite skaters.

Grand master: 50 years old and more (as of Janurary 1st, 2008) and not able to skate with grand master elite skaters.

 

Elite category

Junior female: Female under 18 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 3 minutes 40 seconds at the beginning of the 2008 season.

Junior male: Male under 18 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 3 minutes 20 seconds at the beginning of the 2008 season.

 

Senior female: Female above 18 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 3 minutes 20 seconds at the beginning of the 2008 season.

Senior male : Male above 18 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 3 minutes at the beginning of the 2008 season.

 

Master female: Female above 50 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 3 minutes 20 seconds at the beginning of the 2008 season.

Master male : Male above 30 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 3 minutes at the beginning of the 2008 season.

 

Grand master female: Female above 50 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 4 minutes at the beginning of the 2008 season.

Grand master male : Male above 50 years old (as of January 1st, 2008) able to do a 1500 meters in less then 3 minutes 40 seconds at the beginning of the 2008 season
